The Douglasville Police Department is having a 21st Concepts to Parenting class on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, starting at 6:30 pm in the Douglasville Police Department Community Room. We will have community leaders discussing various topics.

It’s a party in your backyard this Summer! Right here in Douglasville at your home for the arts, the Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/ Douglas County hosts four opportunities to come to shop local, support small businesses, taste a variety of culinary skills, and buy a small artwork for your personal collection to help the arts in your community survive. The events are always free and open to the public, with plenty of parking provided for guests.

Join the Douglasville Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and Douglas County School System Police as we come together with our community to make it a safer and more caring place to live. This is the Tuesday night, August 1, before school starts back and is geared toward all school-age children. Take the opportunity to ask questions and get to know your neighbors and local law enforcement. We will have hot dogs, hamburgers, kids activities, giveaway items, touch a truck, music, and more! Join your local law enforcement for a night of food, fun, and partnership!

Barns & Brush is an exhibit to celebrate the countryside, including scenic views, animals, fruits, trees, and rustic landscapes. The collection of paintings on display August 3-30 includes works by Allison Doke, Elizabeth Bame, Lorraine Kimsey, and Larry Smith. The exhibit is a breath of fresh air for the spirit, bringing viewers back to their homegrown roots. Farmers and City dwellers alike will enjoy the brushstrokes of nature’s simplicity. The opening reception on August 3, 6-8 pm is hosted by Beyond the Front Porch.
On Saturday, August 5, the Douglasville Police Department will be hosting a Community Job Fair. We are inviting all businesses in Douglasville, Douglas County, and surrounding to participate whether they are hiring for full-time, part-time, or temporary positions. Come and check out your employment options in one place. This will include all businesses as well as law enforcement agencies and other government employment opportunities. Businesses need to fill out information in order to have space available. We are taking businesses through July 31(subject to change due to availability).

The Douglasville Police Department invites local youth and their families, youth pastors, and those involved with youth to participate in a summit on topics impacting todays’ youth. All churches and religious affiliations are welcome to send a representative that works with the youth in their organization. We are also calling all interested youth to attend. Be a part of something bigger, contribute and connect to help make a difference. This is a series, so check for future dates.
